Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Medical Secretary to join our friendly and supportive GP practice. The successful candidate will provide a high-quality secretarial and administrative service to our multidisciplinary team, with a particular focus on referrals, correspondence, patient information requests and liaison with hospitals and community services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous medical secretarial experience who is organised, confident using IT systems and able to manage a varied workload in a busy primary care environment. You will work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues and play an important role in ensuring patients receive an efficient and effective service.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Secretary will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the clinical team, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice. The role will involve managing referrals and correspondence, processing patient information requests, communicating with hospitals and other healthcare services, and maintaining accurate patient records.
The successful candidate will also respond to administrative queries, support clinicians with day-to-day tasks, and work collaboratively with reception and administrative colleagues to deliver a high-quality service to patients.

The 'One Dorset Pathology' service comprising of Dorset County Hospital, Poole Hospital and The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals will provide clinicians, patients and carers with a consistent and high standard of service across the area and maximise efficiency in the use of resources.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our friendly Blood Sciences team at Dorset County Hospital. The hospital is located in the county town of Dorchester which is eight miles from the Jurassic coastline and award winning beach.
The ideal candidate will be a Biomedical Scientist with a specialist qualification in Biochemistry
The department has IBMS training approval, UKAS ISO15189:2022 accreditation and encourages professional development.
Consideration will be given to current band 5 candidates who are pursuing further study who could be employed at annex 21.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have specialist experience in Haematology & Transfusion. After appropriate training you will be expected to become integrated as a full member of the busy department working flexibly within an average of 37.5 hours per week. Participation in the 24/7 shift system, once trained, is expected and brings an additional payment at agenda for change pay rates.The department provides a wide range of investigations to Hospital clinicians, Community Services and General Practitioners. The laboratories are approved for HCPC/IBMS training and are accredited to ISO15189:2022.

Job summary
- To assist in the provision of a professional, comprehensive and effective administrative service to the Hepatology Secretariat.Work as part of a team to provide secretarial and clerical support for the unit as required.
- To develop and maintain a high quality service, ensuring the service is effectively and efficiently delivered to all patients and colleagues.
Main duties of the job
1.Review and despatch of clinical, administrative and general correspondence by digital transcription.
2.Ensuring that clinic letters are sent out promptly to General Practitioners.
3.Provide administrative support to Consultants, clinical staff and all patients under their care, including diary administration, correspondence support and other administrative duties as required.
4.Ensuring investigations have been requested and tracking results with hospital notes to ensure appropriate action is carried out in a timely manner.
5.Proactively manage patient pathways on Electronic Patient Record (EPR) to ensure patient is on correct pathway and discharged when appropriate.
6.Use of Clinical Intranet for obtaining results as appropriate.
7.Use of EPR to search and amend patient records. Use of EPR to check appointments booked for patients as requested.
8.To ensure the unit's GP advice line is being actioned and to ensure charges are correctly processed.
9.Efficient and sometimes urgent despatch/delivery of hospital notes as requested.
10.Liaising with Medical Records to return and retrieve hospital notes as required.

Job summary
The post holder will be expected to provide ST1- ST3a grade cover on a rotational shift basis within our Acute Paediatrics and Neonatal services and participate in the on-call FY2 - ST3a rota. Resident Doctor staffing will also be required to work in our Paediatric Emergency Department to support patient experience and flow. They are expected to supervise the FY1s in service delivery and inpatients.

This role is intended to become an integral part of the PCNs multidisciplinary team, working alongside social prescribing link workers and health and wellbeing coaches to provide an all-encompassing approach to personalised care and promoting and embedding the personalised care approach across the PCN.
There may be a need to work remotely depending on the requirements of the role. Please note that the role of a care coordinator is not a clinical role.
