Job description
Job responsibilities
As Clinical Lead GP, you will provide clinical leadership across the practice, supporting our multidisciplinary team, strengthening clinical governance and helping to develop a sustainable, resilient and patient-centred model of care.
Based in the coastal town of Minehead, Somerset, close to Exmoor National Park and within easy reach of Bristol and Taunton, Minehead Medical serves a patient list of approximately 10,000 and is supported by a friendly team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, where you could:
- Make a meaningful difference and develop lasting relationships with patients and the local community.
- Work within a close-knit practice while benefiting from the resources, expertise and career opportunities of a wider healthcare organisation.
- Become part of an exciting period of holistic improvement and transformation.
- When you join Minehead Medical Centre, you will enjoy working in a friendly, close-knit local team, backed by the stability, resources, and career progression of a modern healthcare leader.
Your Role & Responsibilities
As Clinical Lead GP, you will divide your time between clinical delivery, clinical leadership and service development.
Working closely with the Business Manager and supported by colleagues across One Medical Group, you will provide visible and approachable clinical leadership across the practice and help drive improvements in quality, safety, governance and patient care.
You will also act as the practice's CQC Registered Manager, taking an active role in ensuring the service meets its regulatory and clinical governance responsibilities.
Most importantly, you will be someone who wants to make a genuine difference - to patients, to colleagues and to the future of primary care at Minehead Medical Centre.
What We Offer
- Salary: Up to £120,000 per annum FTE (40 hours) dependent on experience
- NHS Pension: 20.6% employer contribution.
- Annual Leave: 30 days plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata), plus an extra day of leave awarded for every year of service.
- Protected CPD & Study Time: 10% of weekly working hours set aside for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), plus 5 days of study leave per annum (pro-rata).
- Support & Indemnity: Full indemnity cover provided for the hours worked.
- Relocation & Sponsorship: Relocation support may be available, alongside Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible full-time or part-time patterns, plus enhanced Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Pay.
- Fully integrated EMIS system, and GP Automate.
- Health & Benefits: 24/7 confidential mental health support via Health Assured EAP, Eye Care vouchers, Cycle to Work scheme, and OMG's 'Refer a Friend' cash bonus scheme
When you join OneMedical Group, you will become part of an organisation that is committed to helping you grow, make a meaningful contribution and thrive in your career.
Through our developing Elevate Academy, we are creating clear and accessible pathways that support colleagues from induction and role-specific learning through to apprenticeships, specialist expertise, leadership and education. We know that everyone's career journey is different, which is why we want every colleague to understand the opportunities available to them, identify their next step and receive the support they need to achieve it.
We also recognise that working in healthcare can be both demanding and rewarding. Our approach to wellbeing is developed with our colleagues and shaped by what they tell us matters most. We will support and empower you to look after your own wellbeing while working together to create a healthier future for our patients, our colleagues and the communities we serve.

The Civil Service embraces diversity and promotes equal opportunities. As such, we run a Disability Confident Scheme (DCS) for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.
There may be occasions where it is not practicable or appropriate to interview all DCS candidates that meet the minimum criteria for the job. For example, in certain recruitment situations such as a high volume of applications, seasonal demand, or peak periods, the employer may wish to limit the overall number of interviews offered to both DCS and non-DCS applicants.
If you need to advise us that you need additional help or reasonable adjustments for the recruitment process, please contact [email protected].
The Ministry of Defence requires all candidates who are successful at interview to declare any outside interests. These declarations will be discussed with successful candidates following the interview process and before a formal offer of employment is made, as some outside interests may not be compatible with MOD civilian roles. This will not, in the majority of cases, prevent employment in MOD, but it is a measure that must be taken to ensure that appropriate mitigations can be put in place to manage any potential, perceived or actual conflicts of interest from the first day of employment.
The Ministry of Defence adopts a zero-tolerance approach to unacceptable behaviours, which includes bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, and victimisation. You will not be eligible and will not be considered for this post if you have been dismissed from a role for such unacceptable behaviours within the last five years. This will also apply if you resign or otherwise leave a role but, because of an adverse decision, would have been dismissed for gross misconduct had you continued in that employment. Pre-employment checks will be carried out.
The Ministry of Defence is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for its staff which includes educating them on the benefits of not smoking, protecting them from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke and supporting those who want to give up smoking. The policy is Whole Force and includes all Defence personnel, contractors, visitors and other non-MOD personnel. All applicants seeking, considering, or accepting employment with the Ministry of Defence should be aware of this policy and that it is already in place at a number of Defence Establishments.

Job summary
Epsom PCN has 5 recently qualified GPs and we are looking for an extra GP to join the team. The contract will be for up to 4 sessions a week (but could be fewer).
Epsom is a largely urban area with some semi-rural populations and is served by the London facing Epsom St Helier NHS Trust. Famous for its racecourse and the annual Epsom Derby, Epsom PCN is within the Surrey Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Epsom PCN is a forward thinking network and has recently been awarded two bids to embed and test progressive IT from the ICB. It is an exciting prospect for all our practices and GP Federation with the capability of transforming the way primary care is delivered.
The PCN is served by St Stephens House Surgery, Shadbolt Park House Surgery, Ashley Centre Surgery, Fountain Practice, The Derby Medical Centre and Spring Street Surgery.
For recently qualified GPs there is a protected clinic template to help your transition into full practice. We are open to more experienced GPs applying who are willing to take on additional activities such as duty doctor and clinical triage and salary is commensurate accordingly.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a GP who acts within their professional boundaries, working within a general practice setting.
A GP is required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract. Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
About us
Epsom PCN is a dynamic and forward thinking network with strong relations between practices and with its Federation.
We have an expansive MDT within the network (over 30 staff) and we work closely with our colleagues in the Community Team. Our ethos and a flavour of the network can be seen by reading the Network Development Plan for 2024-25.
Epsom PCN is a friendly and supportive place to work. We have achieved training status as an organisation and take on nursing and paramedic students.
Whilst mainly a relatively affluent part of the country, Epsom has pockets of deprivation and we work closely with our colleagues in the VCSE sector and within local and county councils to reduce the disparity in outcomes for our residents.
Epsom PCN was awarded a test bed pilot scheme to trial a new electronic health record which can operate at scale to reflect the new Neighbourhood model. It is an exciting time to join this progressive network.
