Job summary
The post holder will take responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programmes throughout the RDCEC paediatric nursing service and will be able to reflect on their working practices to develop team cohesion and patient care.
The post holder will be using their skills and experience in the paediatric ophthalmic day surgery ward, paediatric ophthalmic out-patient clinics and paediatric ophthalmic A&E.
The post holder will also act as a resource for child protection advice in the absence of senior colleagues and will show evidence of continuing practice development.
The post holder will be a supportive team member with an understanding of child development and what impact this can have on their response to their hospital pathway. The post holder will also be aware of the different needs of children and their families and will work with them to deliver family-centred care,
Main duties of the job
he role of the band 5 staff nurse- paediatric service is to work in the ward, out patient clinics, paediatric Accident & Emergency department.
The post holder will work multi-professionally with key members of the paediatric team adapting the concept of family centred care.
Working according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, the post holder will:
- Maintaining accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluation programmes of care within the framework of paediatric nursing
Assist with both direct and indirect care for children, young people and their families/carers
Assist with advice and support to colleagues, patients and their families/carers

Our main focus is the treatment and care of NHS patients with a wide range of eye problems, from common complaints to rare conditions that require treatment not available elsewhere in the UK. The volume and variety of conditions treated by our clinicians means that they have a unique range of skills and knowledge.
To work in the contact centre to provide booking service to patients making outpatient appointment, registering referrals, agreeing appointments with patients and ensuring information is recorded accurately on the relevant systems.

Main duties of the job
To register patients on the Patient Administration System
To undertake booking of appointments in accordance with procedures, discussing with all patients a choice of date and time.
To check all referral letters that are received in the Department. Ensure that the outpatient registration is entered on the Patient Administration System and the referral letter is forwarded to the relevant service within the agreed time frame.
To cancel and rebook patient appointments, following the guidelines issued by the relevant service.

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a clinic co-ordination/receptionist
To provide an effective service for Moorfields North and a designated service or group of consultants and be the primary point of contact for patients and staff for any administrative issues.
To ensure that patients are given clear information regarding their pathways, and arrangements and that their pathway is managed smoothly and efficiently.
Work closely with the responsible surgeons, lead nurses to ensure that appointments are appropriately booked.
Moorfields Eye Hospital invites applications for the permanent post of Outpatient Clinic Co-ordinator based at Moorfields Eye Clinic Bedford.
This post will also require work between the 2 sites in Bedford for reception duties, with a flexible approach. The hours are on a rotation and run as 08.00-16.00, 09.00-17.00 & 10.00-18.00
Main duties of the job
- Provide a high standard of receptionist/ 1st point of contact and administrative support, to include timely and accurate cashing up of clinics.
- Be courteous and professional when dealing with patients, at all times
- Check patient information i.e. address and general practitioner details are accurate and up to date and make any necessary alterations to the patient's health record and PAS.
- Record outpatient outcomes, RTT status and where appropriate, outpatient procedure coding promptly for every patient.
- Book appointments for diagnostic purposes in liaison with the appropriate departments
- Make follow-up appointments as requested by the clinician within appropriate timeframes
- Where issues and/or problems are identified with appointment booking, highlight these with clinicians
- Ensure regular communication and liaison with the clinical and nursing teams working in clinics to keep them informed of any problems that may impact on the running of the clinic, e.g. patients arriving late.
- Do Not Attend (DNA) and discharge patients in line with the Access Policy and ensure clinics are 'cashed up' promptly.
- Assist with reception telephone calls and enquires from staff members, patients and carers.
