Job summary
We are seeking an additional Receptionist / Administrator to join our friendly team based at The Grove Medical Centre and our branch site, The Marina Surgery. We deliver a high standard of care to the local population, with a list size of approximately 8,800 patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individual to join our busy administrative team. Office experience is desirable and experience working in a Primary Care setting is advantageous. However, full training and mentoring will be provided.
We are looking to employ a new member of staff for a total of 24 hours (3 days) per week. However, additional ad hoc hours are likely to be available most weeks due to staff annual leave.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are as follows:
- Open / close the surgery in the mornings / evenings.
- Answer telephone calls from patients, other health professionals and members of the public.
- Book appointments for patients.
- Process requests received on our askmyGP system and care navigate as appropriate.
- Register new patients and deduct leaving patients.
- Organise prescriptions to be signed by GPs both by hand and electronically.
- Open and process mail that is received by the practice.
- Process documents received via the Welsh Clinical Communications Gateway (WCCG).
- Make urgent blood test appointments on behalf of the GPs.
- Check adequate supply of stationery / stock in consulting rooms and replenish as necessary.
- Attend practice nights out!
About us
We are a medium-sized practice with a list of approximately 8,800 patients based across a broad area of Swansea. Our clinical team consists of 5 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs and a varying number of GP trainees. Our nursing team consists of 2 nurses and 1 healthcare assistant. Our admin team is made up of 13 members of staff including our practice manager and deputy practice manager.
We are a hard-working but friendly team who pride ourselves on providing the best service possible to our patients. Our salary and holiday scheme is largely based upon the NHS 'Agenda for Change' system which means that our benefits are in line with NHS staff working within secondary care. All our staff are automatically entered into the NHS Pension Scheme.

- Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

- Opening up / locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols when on rota
- Maintaining and monitoring the Practice electronic appointments system request system (askmyGP)

- Processing face-to-face and telephone requests for appointments, home visits and telephone advice calls and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Taking messages and passing on information

- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines
- Computer data entry / data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Re-stock consulting rooms with forms as required
- Providing clerical assistance to Practice and Trust staff as required from time to time, including word / data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies if required
- Keeping the reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter as necessary

Job summary
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking to recruit a Substantive Consultant Spinal Oncology Surgeon to maintain capacity and improve delivery of high-quality spinal surgery to spinal oncology patients referred from General Practitioners, spinal triage services, and other secondary or tertiary care providers.
The spinal department at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) is currently made up 13 consultant spinal surgeons supported by registrars, advanced nurse practitioners, extended scope physiotherapists, and Resident doctors. This post is to increase capacity.
The individual appointed to the post will have competed orthopaedic or neurosurgical training and have completed (or be undertaking) a training fellowship in spinal surgery, with particular interest in adult degenerative and surgical oncological conditions of the spine. There is no requirement to lead on spinal deformity cases but assistance may be sought as required.

Main duties of the job
The on-call rota includes 11 of the 13 surgeons and runs 24 hours a day. The on-call referrals are managed through an electronic referral system (ReferAPatient) in line with regional and national guidelines and include secondary, tertiary, and quaternary level referrals. Poly-trauma in the West Midlands region is in line with the Trauma Networks which are managed by regional Major Trauma Centres. Mono-trauma to the spine can be referred to The ROH for ongoing management. This is less frequent that poly-trauma. Trauma is managed in line with Regional Spinal Network (RSN) guidelines. The spinal on-call rota is separate to the rest of the hospital and does not cover orthopaedic patients with non-spinal conditions.

About You

Windsor House Group Practice is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse to work 2.5 days per week. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a patient facing role and has good communication and organisational skills.
The post-holder will work in the practice clinical team delivering high-quality healthcare to registered patients within our large training practice (approx. 20,000 patients). We are looking for a Registered Nurse (Wound Care) to join our Wound Care Service. The service is spread across clinics in Fleetwood, Freckleton and St Annes.
Pay: £15.88 - £19.33 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 22.5 hours per week permanent post
Accountable to: Lead Wound Care Nurse
Reports to: Clinical Manager for Lancashire Place Based Care
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake wound assessments and treatment for patients with simple wounds. Patients who will be referred to this service will be the following types:
Post operative including suture and staple removal
Post trauma skin tears, self-harm
Acute wounds that require follow up
Cavity Wounds
Burns/scalds that require follow up
Patient education including nutrition in relation to wound healing and scar management
There is an expectation to refer to the wider community team if required, support Senior clinicians and HCAs and attend meetings when required. The post holder will help promote the service and implement change as requested from the ICB.
Exclusion Criteria: Those patients who are: Not registered with a GP in Fylde and Wyre CCG (i.e., reside outside area) House bound Undergoing or requiring Vac Therapy patients Undergoing or requiring Larvae Therapy Doppler patients

Operating across multiple hub sites covering the West, Central and East neighbourhoods, the service supports a wide range of primary care activity including GP, ANP, nursing and HCA clinics.
The aim of this post is to enhance clinical capacity within the Hubs, supporting increased access to routine care, improving early identification and monitoring of long-term conditions, and ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality assessments. Lonsdale Medical Group is a 20,000 patient Practice located near Queens Park Station with a team of clinicians and administrative staff making up a team of over 50 staff members.
Just off the main road of Salusbury Road, there are local shops, restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops, along with staff parking available outside the Practice.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. Your working day will be 7.5 hours.

Main duties of the job
As a Receptionist Coordinator, you are the fundamental base of the Practice, and so the ideal candidate would have previous GP Practice (or similar to) experience along with:
- Knowledge of EMIS system; experience in booking, amending, cancelling appointments,
- Familiar with prescription request issuance
- E-consults
- Actioning emails
- Docman
- Tasks
- Front desk reception duties
- Registrations
- Excellent IT skills
- Confident and compassionate
- Superb communication skills are essential to the role.

Hold regular reception team meetings

Liaise with staff and communicate any changes in practice procedures that need to be followed
Monitor phone calls and administrative tasks to ensure workloads are managed efficiently

Ensure reception is always covered to maintain smooth daily operations
Prepare and manage the reception staff rota

Monitor staff lateness and sickness and report accordingly
Work closely with and report to the Practice Manager
