Job summary
We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic Health Visitor to join our Torfaen Health visiting team. You will be working within a team of Health Visitors and skill mix staff delivering an Early Years Health visiting programme to families living within the Torfaen area.
The successful candidate will have the relevant qualification, professionalism and clinical skills necessary to work on their own initiative as well as working effectively in partnership with parents/carers and other services such as Early Years Services, , Primary Care, Children Services and School Nursing. Applications from student due to qualify are also welcomed.
Main duties of the job
The Health Visitor contributes to the development of new projects and policies within the health visiting service and is involved in the research, implementation and evaluation of evidence based practice. The post holder will be responsible for providing universal, enhanced, and intensiveHealth Visiting services to children and families from all cultural diversities on their case load. Health Visitors work as a team across locally defined areas and support the service across Gwent, to provide a safe service for all preschool children and their families.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 4 Assistant Therapy Practitioners to join our developing Community Admission Avoidance Therapy Team (CAATT). This post will be based at the Royal Gwent Hospital, working Monday- Friday.
The post holder will contribute to the provision of CAATT by providing high quality, effective support to people who have presented to the emergency care department/acute medical units. This activity supports the ABUHB Clinical Futures work aimed at preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital, reducing length of hospital stay, providing care closer to home and establishing home-based support where appropriate by liaising with primary, community and third sector organisations.
We have a post available based at the Grange University Hospital, where CAATT provide a 7-day service 07:30-20:00. The shift pattern can be discussed/negotiated at interview, however, the requirement is for 0.8WTE aligned to these hours of service provision. Whilst the successful candidate will be assigned to GUH as a main base, there will be an expectation that they work across the sites where we provide service when required, with notice being provided, to ensure that the service remains responsive to demands.
Main duties of the job
This role is recognised as a key part of the multi professional service delivery and we are looking for skilled, organised and enthusiastic individuals to join us.
Patient management will be delegated by registered therapists and will include: working with patients to understand their challenges and concerns, the delivery of therapeutic interventions and liaising with patients, family, members of the MDT and external agencies to support and facilitating a return home where possible. Post holders will need to demonstrate good time management, prioritisation skills and flexibility in their approach as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Successful candidates will work alongside registered Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists and will manage a delegated caseload of patients. The role will include supporting people with a range of functional difficulties within the bounds of the practitioner role, including those presenting with traumatic injuries, multiple co-morbidities, frailty and cognitive deficits.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Specialist Band 6 Dietitian to work within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Tier 2 Adult Mental Health Services.
The post-holder will be responsible for Dietetic input to a number of the community mental health teams and tier 2 older adult specialist mental health wards across Gwent.
You will work alongside the older adult multidisciplinary team of nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech therapists and psychiatrists, and contribute to the assessment and care of older adults at different stages of their mental health difficulties including individual, group, community and specialist older adult ward in-patient care.
The post-holder will gain understanding of the main psychological therapies and treatments for a range of mental health conditions and work within tier 2 adult MH services and older adult MH teams.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a good experience, knowledge and understanding of common mental health conditions and have enthusiasm for working with this population.
You will be expected to travel to a range of sites, and work both face to face and virtually to allow improved access for families and care closer to home.
Your professional base will be with Ty Gwent with ABUHB Community Dietetics team.

The post will involve working with patients who have both functional and organic mental health diagnosis, in a general hospital setting, under the direction of Band 6 practitioners.
The service works in every general care facility within the ABUHB trust, and applicants will be required to move between sites as part of their role.
The hours of work 8:00 - 16:00 / 12:00 - 20:00 - Monday to Friday. 9:00 - 17:00 - Saturday to Sunday

Applications are invited for a locum Consultant Breast Surgeon for the duration of 1 year, based at the newly opened Specialist Breast Unit at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Ystrad Mynach with occasional operating lists at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport. Secretarial support, junior staff and full IT facilities will be provided. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team of breast specialists within the division of General Surgery, but will not be required to be part of the General Surgery on-call rota. The appointee will work with a multidisciplinary breast team delivering breast services and within the Health Board. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking General Practitioner to join our Acute Medical Team on a fixed term salaried basis, supporting the initial assessment and management of adult patients presenting with emergent and acute medical conditions. Work will predominately within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service.

You will play a key role in delivering same day emergency care within an ambulatory model, helping to assess, diagnose, treat and safely discharge patients without the need for hospital admission where appropriate.

Clinical

These opportunities are for Senior Clinical Fellows with training opportunities in Nevill Hall Hospital (NHH), Abergavenny in South Wales. The duties and responsibilities will be appropriate to the grade and speciality with appropriate consultant supervision
This will include the assessment, monitoring and initiating treatment, with colleagues and under consultant supervision
Attend consultant and multidisciplinary ward rounds, and supervise relevant junior medical students who may rotate through the directorate
Undertake regular unsupervised ward rounds on the relevant ward to ensure patients are making satisfactory progress
Complete discharge summaries in a timely fashion
Attend clinic as part of continuing professional development
Research and service outcome evaluation will be the key part of this job and you will have one session for this as part of this clinical fellow post
