Job summary
This is a dual Reception/Administration role, offering a combination of patient-facing reception duties and administrative work. The Reception element involves supporting patients, managing enquiries and appointments and helping clinics run smoothly, while the Administration element is primarily office-based and includes referrals, clinical databases, activity data, stock ordering and other service administration. This differs from our dedicated Reception role, which is predominantly focused on front-facing patient contact.
Working pattern is:
- Monday: 08:00 - 17:30
- Tuesday: 08:00 - 17:00
- Wednesday: 08:00 - 17:30
- Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
- Friday: Day off
The starting hourly rate of pay is £12.71 per hour rising to £13.15 per hour after a successful probationary period of 6 months.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have previous receptionist and/or administrative experience gained within a Primary Care setting or the NHS. They will possess excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to provide a professional and compassionate service to patients and colleagues alike.
A high level of attention to detail, a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, able to learn new tasks quickly and confidently manage a varied workload within a fast-paced environment.
The post holder will also demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, use initiative appropriately and be capable of prioritising and completing tasks efficiently and accurately within required timescales.

Reception Role
- Primarily this role involves dealing with patient enquiries over the telephone and face-to-face. Booking appointments for all clinics and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of all clinics.
- Managing the day-to-day running of the busy services by ensuring that all referrals are actioned and booked into available clinics.

Whitstable Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and patient focused Clinical Services Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team based at Estuary View Medical Practice.
This role will support both our busy reception team and wider Clinical Services department helping ensure patients receive a professional welcoming and efficient service at all times. We are looking for someone 37 hours a week to be based at our Chestfield Medical Centre site, however working pattern and hours can be negotiated over 4/5 days and must include Monday and Friday.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical:
· Undertaking patient facing and patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared decision-making conversations with patients.
· Carrying out medicines optimisation tasks including effective medicine administration (e.g. checking inhaler technique), supporting medication reviews and medicines reconciliation. Main duties of the job
Acting as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring they are directed to the right service at the right time.

Whitstable Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated fully Qualified or Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Frailty to join our friendly, highly performing team.
You will have completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or if an equivalence be registered through the Advancing Practice Academy e-portfolio route. Or you will be on an MSc Advanced Practice course and have completed your clinical assessment and independent prescribing qualification. Our wider team includes GPs, practice nurses, ACPs in urgent care, paramedic practitioners, nurse practitioners, radiographers and administrative staff.
As a team we support the care of older people within the Whitstable area, in particular leading the care for all the local care home residents, conducting home visits for those with severe frailty and providing urgent home visits for those acutely unwell and at risk of hospital admission. We also provide teaching and support to our colleagues regarding older persons care and link in closely with other community services such as the community frailty team and home treatment service.
Main duties of the job
The candidate must have a special interest in frailty, have considerable post registration experience, be competent in assessing patients, arranging investigations, considering differential diagnoses and implementing management plans. It is essential to have professional registration.
The post holder will work alongside experienced Frailty Practitioners in addition to a number of other Allied Health Professionals. They will have strong organisation skills, be flexible and show empathy and compassion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of leadership qualities are also required.

Patient Care:
To work closely with the GPs, primary care and community staff in providing a service for patients ensuring the delivery of treatment, care planning and hospital admission prevention where appropriate.

To work closely with the GPs, primary care and community staff in providing a service for patients ensuring the delivery of treatment, care planning and hospital admission prevention where appropriate.

Whitstable Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will work autonomously and collaboratively within the nursing team to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based care to the patients of Whitstable Medical Practice. The post holder will undertake advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing referral and ongoing management of patients presenting with acute, chronic, complex and undifferentiated conditions.
The ANP will provide advanced nursing care while supporting the operational and strategic objectives of Whitstable Medical Practice and will practise in accordance with the Four Pillars of Advanced Practice: Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education, and Research.
The post holder will support high standards of patient care, service development, clinical governance and continuous quality improvement.

Whitstable Medical Practice is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our Urgent Treatment Centre working 25 hours per week. - Experience of working either in an Accident and Emergency, Minor Injuries Unit or General Practice.
- Taking history from a patient.
- Has an understanding of local and national issues relating to urgent care.
- Up to date knowledge of DH and NICE guidance.

- Fracture management/manipulation and simple plastering.
- Suturing and wound closure (maintaining aspetic technique).

Qualifications
Essential

- Registered with NMC or HCPC.
- Experience in assessment, diagnosis and management of patients.
- Independent Nurse Prescribing/Non Medical Prescribing qualification.
Desirable
- Emergency Nurse practitioner course.
- Accident and Emergency course or Enhanced Clinical Examination or Consultation Module. Minor injuries and Minor Illness course. Independent Nurse Prescribing.
- Primary Care experience.
- Mentorship/and or Leadership.
