Main duties of the job
As a GP Practice which is part of Northumbria Primary Care, we work with flexibility and independence to run the surgery based on what is best for our patients and staff, and additionally we have the regular and consistent support of the management team to help us to focus on what is clinically important.
As a Salaried GP the post holder will be a key clinician within the team. A job plan will be agreed with you to provide general medical services and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.

Job summary

The post will work into the assessment and navigation service at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) supporting the Front Door Service 7 days per week and also into the Urgent Care Centers at Wansbeck General Hospital and North Tyneside general Hospital. This will include weekend and evening work on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job
As a qualified General Practitioner (GP) your role is to provide acute primary care to patients who walk-in or are referred via NHS 111. This includes dealing with patients presenting with minor illness, more serious illness (needing an assessment and onward referral / transfer to secondary care) and minor injuries (training / support available).
You will also support the developing Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Clinical Practitioners (CPs) and GP Registrars in their assessment and management of primary care illness whilst on shift (part of an ongoing workforce development program).
There is also the opportunity to join the NSECH Front Door Service which provides Nurse Practitioner led streaming and rapid assessment of walk-in patients to NSECH ('pre-ED') and direction to the most appropriate service for their immediate health needs. Destination options include the Assessment and Navigation Service (ANS), Emergency Department, Same Day Emergency Care (Acute Medicine / Surgery / Gynaecology), off-site UTC or self-care. Shadowing sessions, training sessions and live assessment prior to commitment are provided as this role is not suited to everyone. Training and support are given.

Main duties of the job
Provide highly specialised clinical services and advice within specialist area. At the time of advert exact details of speciality are being agreed by the senior pharmacy team but the details will be discussed at interview.
Provide a personal clinical and professional contribution to the clinical pharmacy service e.g. by participating on medical and other ward rounds, in clinics, counselling patients, prescribing. Clinical pharmacy describes how pharmacists use their expertise and experience to make sure that patients get the best out of their medicines. It involves proactive and direct patient care which reduces clinical and financial risk i.e. maximising clinical outcomes, minimising patient morbidity and risk of error and maximising cost effectiveness.

NPC Felton and Widdrington are looking for a 2 session Salaried GP to work part time and join our practice working across both sites. The succesful candidate will be expected to work a Tuesday.
Join our experienced, friendly and supportive team at Felton & Widdrington. We are a well-established training practice serving a semi-rural population of 4500 over our Felton & Widdrington sites. Our Widdrington site was refurbished in November 2024 and our Felton site is due to begin renovation work in November 2025 with an aimed completion date of Spring 2026.

Main duties of the job
As a GP Practice which is part of Northumbria Primary Care, we work with flexibility and independence to run the surgery based on what is best for our patients and staff, and additionally we have the regular and consistent support of the management team to help us to focus on what is clinically important.
As a Salaried GP the post holder will be a key clinician within the team. A job plan will be agreed with you to provide general medical services and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.

NPC Northumbria Way are a friendly practice serving around 15,000 patients across three practices in Cramlington and the Seaton Valley, we combine the benefits of modern facilities, an experienced multidisciplinary team and a supportive working culture. Our sites include a large purpose-built surgery adjacent to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, a planned new-build practice in Seaton Delaval, and a coastal surgery at Seaton Sluice.
You'll join a team of 7 Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurse Prescribers and Clinical Pharmacists, supported by dedicated Mental Health, MSK and Social Prescribing services.
