Job summary
A Locum GP is required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
Main duties of the job
Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team

The following are the core responsibilities of the Locum GP in delivering health services.
- Work as agreed in accordance with the practice timetable
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
- The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
- Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly, referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising practice and any other local guidelines
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
- Effective management of long-term conditions

Job summary
The post-holder will be responsible for patients presenting with scheduled appointments or acute urgent appointments. The post-holder will also be required to carry out telephone triage and advising people in respect of their medical needs. The post holder will also be responsible for promoting and facilitating a healthy lifestyle and provide preventative health care and health education. The post holder will act as a role model in the delivery of the service by being a highly efficient and productive senior clinician using their expert knowledge and experience. You will need to prioritise the needs of the service, team and patients accordingly making any necessary decisions to maintain the safety of the patients and the effectiveness of the service.
The position is 16 hours worked over 2 days (Wednesday and Friday).
Main duties of the job

Job summary
To be the initial point of contact for patients registered at the practice who have a mental health problem.
To provide quick and appropriate access to help by providing a timely triage appointment to assess their needs and identify an action plan.
To develop mental health promotion and wellbeing within the primary care setting using a variety of resources.
Respond to any relevant mental health needs identified by other professionals or services such as DWP, out of hours attendances, other NHS departments and others as deemed appropriate.
Be a point of contact for the MDT for advice and support regarding any mental health issues that others may come during their working day.
To support the MDT and contribute to the management and delivery of the QOF severe mental illness register annual reviews.
This role is a job share with our current Mental Health Nurse, 11 hours to be worked over 2 days (Thursday and Friday).
Main duties of the job
Offer Mental health triagein a time frame appropriate for patients needs including some same day appointments.

Keep up to date with inhouse mandatory training.
Take responsibility for revalidation requirement as per NMC.
To issue sicknotes to patient if they are unable to work due to their mental health problems.
To organise and complete the QOF annual reviews for the SMI register which consists of HCA appointment and then a face to face appointment with me that includes formulation of a care plan, crisis management, general health advice.
To maintain awareness of updated protocols and/or policies and to execute them whenever possible at all times
