Job summary
Honiton Surgery is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly, forward-thinking Practice, serving approximately 18,500 patients across East Devon. As a well-established Practice and lead Practice within our Primary Care Network, we are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care through innovation, collaboration and continuous service improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity for an autonomous clinician who is passionate about primary care and wishes to work within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in delivering same-day access services, leading acute minor illness clinics and managing patients presenting with acute, minor illness and undifferentiated conditions.
Salary will be offered between Band 7 and Band 8a equivalent, depending on experience, clinical capability and whether a recognised Advanced Clinical Practice qualification has been obtained.
Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will:
- Independently assess, diagnose and manage acute and minor illness presentations.
- Undertake advanced clinical assessment and clinical decision-making.
- Prescribe safely and effectively as an Independent Prescriber.
- Request, interpret and act upon appropriate investigations.
- Deliver both face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Work collaboratively within the Practice Duty Team alongside GPs, Pharmacists, and Nursing colleagues.
- Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and service development initiatives.

An exciting opportunity has a risen at our practice for an Experienced Practice Nurse. We are seeking a full-time employee; however, we are open to discussing part-time (30+ hours) or compressed hours for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

Primary Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the post holder There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Support the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) lead and work to the IPC Policy
b. Consult with patients and their families to undertake assessments of patient need
c. Support in the long-term condition management within the organisation, including being involved with quality improvement and assurance initiatives
d. Develop, implement and embed an effective care management programme for the frail and housebound patients registered with the organisation
e. Support public health and screening programmes, including immunisations, vaccinations, and cervical screening and also provide opportunistic health promotion advice
f. Embed population health management approaches within general practice, targeting health inequalities and improving access
g. As required, provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
h. Support new-to-practice nurses and other healthcare professionals within the organisation
