Job summary
Join Chadwell Heath Surgery as a Receptionist/Administrator and become the first point of contact for patients, making a real difference to their healthcare experience every day. We are a friendly, well-established GP practice committed to delivering high quality patient care, supporting our local community, and fostering a positive, collaborative working environment where every team member is valued.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines patient-facing reception duties with essential administrative responsibilities. You will support patients with appointments and enquiries, manage telephone and online requests, process clinical information, liaise with healthcare professionals and external organisations, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and being part of a busy team.
We are looking for a motivated, organised and compassionate individual with excellent communication and IT skills, who can remain calm under pressure and provide outstanding customer service. In return, we offer a supportive workplace culture, opportunities for training and development, and the chance to build a meaningful career within primary care.
If you are passionate about helping others, enjoy working as part of a team, and want to contribute to improving patient care in your community, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
As a Receptionist/Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receive a professional, welcoming and efficient service. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them access the right healthcare services while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy GP practice. The role involves a combination of customer service, administration and coordination, requiring excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Working closely with GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals, you will help manage patient enquiries, support appointment management processes, maintain accurate records and assist with a variety of administrative tasks that contribute to high-quality patient care. You will engage with patients both in person and over the telephone, providing reassurance, guidance and support in a compassionate and professional manner.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding service. The role offers variety, responsibility and the chance to make a meaningful difference to the experience of patients within the local community while developing valuable skills within the NHS primary care setting.
