The Role

Reporting to the Senior Nurse Consultant, you will work as part of the clinical research team to support the delivery of clinical trial protocols within primary care and community settings. This role is suitable for a Research Nurse with 13 years of clinical research experience who is looking to develop their skills, particularly in Commercial research delivery. You will work under the guidance of senior members of the team, including the Nurse Consultant and Senior Research Nurse, gaining experience across a range of studies and therapeutic areas.

You will independently manage participant visits for high-complexity trials requiring clinical assessment and may act as the primary point of contact for sponsors on allocated trials to ensure safe, high quality, and participant-focused research delivery.

Your focus will be flexibly divided with approximately 50% of your time leading clinical aspects of the CRDC (PC) and approximately 50% working on the Mereside portfolio, though these allocations will adapt to organisational needs at the time. Your Responsibilities

Clinical Research Delivery

• Independently manage participant visits and assessments for high-complexity trials

Thornford Park is a 141 bed hospital set within 21 acres of Berkshire countryside, offering a seamless care pathway across medium and low secure services, psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs), and rehabilitation flats. The site supports men and women with complex Mental Health needs, Personality Disorders, Learning Disabilities, and Autism—often with histories of offending or previous placement challenges.

The Single Point of Access Pathway Navigator will:

Complete comprehensive and holistic assessments of need for patients with suspected ADHD who fit the criteria for the service within agreed timeframes.

Identify patient safety risks and escalate concerns when necessary to the appropriate person, following correct protocols and within a timely manner.

Develop collaborative wellbeing action plans with service users with ADHD symptoms which promote choice and accessibility.

Discuss all available providers of ADHD assessments enabling clinically appropriate and informed patient choice. In cases where it is agreed to refer, all necessary patient administration will be completed as per agreed protocols.

Identify any barriers to people accessing support for their ADHD symptoms and work with individuals to overcome these.
