An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced SCPHN school nurses to join the Bromley 0-19 service. We are looking for dynamic, confident and compassionate nurses to join the well-established team within the Bromley borough. The service is approaching a period of exciting change and innovation, and the post holder would have the opportunity to help influence and transform the service offer available to children, young people and their families.
The post-holder will be the named School Nurse for schools within the area. This role will incorporate a supervisory role for staff nurses working within the school nursing service.
The post holder will work as a member of the School Nursing Service and will work with schools, families, and the wider community to improve the health of school-aged children identifying the more vulnerable, and developing clear referral pathways so that all children and young people can reach their full potential.
This will be achieved by delivering the requirements from the service specification. They will work closely with the identified leader in each school providing expert information, guidance, and assessments as required.

Main duties of the job
As a highly motivated and dynamic school nurse, you will play a leading role in shaping our services as we are committed to meeting the health needs of children and young people through the delivery of the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme.
The school nurse will deliver high-quality evidence-based skilled nursing care within the schools of Bromley. You will be responsible for a defined caseload of secondary schools, and supporting junior staff with the management of primary schools. Applicants must hold a Specialist Community Public Health Qualification in School Nursing, and have post-graduate experience of working within a School Nursing team.
Adheres to the NMC Code and maintains own professional requirements in line with revalidation procedure.
Participates actively in continuing education programs and accepts responsibility for professional and self-development.

The Rehabilitation Nurse (Band 5) is responsible for ensuring the effective provision of nursing care for patients in the unit. You may act up for the senior Staff Nurse and will regularly take charge of a nursing caseload when the relevant competencies have been achieved. You share responsibility for the management of rehabilitation programmes for patients while on the unit. She/he carries continuing responsibility for the comprehensive assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care programmes. You are accountable for standards of care and for determining the activity of your support staff.
You will be expected to:
To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and to be conversant with the Scope of Professional Conduct and other NMC Advisory papers.
To take responsibility for ensuring the criteria for CPD is met in order to maintain nursing registration and also for professional and organisational knowledge in accordance with PREPP.

Main duties of the job
Clinicalo To provide high quality and skilled nursing/rehabilitation care and support to patients, carers and their families of a defined caseload.o Liaise with community teams, GP surgeries, statutory and voluntary agencies in the provision of care to patients and their families/carers in order to facilitate a safe discharge.o To undertake holistic assessments of the patient, using appropriate documentation according to Bromley Healthcare's Policies and Procedures.
