Job summary
Salaried GP Up to 8 Sessions
£11,500 - £12,800 per session | 15-minute routine appointments | Fixed Acute Care workload | Excellent annual and study leave
Looking for a GP role that gives you time with patients and a team around you?
Hereford Medical Group is looking for a Salaried GP to join our established clinical team for up to 8 sessions per week.
We are a large general practice, but our model is designed to retain the things that matter in general practice: continuity with your patients, manageable clinical sessions, time for development and access to a wide multidisciplinary team for support.
What we offer
- £11,500 - £12,800 per session, depending on experience
- 15-minute routine GP appointments
- Fixed patient numbers within Acute Care sessions
- Up to 32 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, pro-rata
- Protected study/development time built into the weekly rota
- Up to a further 5 days' study leave each year, pro-rata
- Administrative support while you are on annual leave, helping you return without an inbox mountain waiting for you
- Opportunities to develop portfolio interests
- Support and mentorship from an experienced GP and multidisciplinary team
- NHS Pension Scheme
Interviews will be held on w/c 14th September.
Main duties of the job
A different approach to same-day care
Our dedicated Acute Care Team provides same-day care for patients with urgent problems.
As a Salaried GP you will undertake both routine and Acute Care work, giving you variety while maintaining a defined workload. Acute Care sessions have fixed patient numbers, rather than an open-ended list of patients continuing to arrive throughout the session.
Alongside this, you will have your own routine surgeries, allowing you to build continuity with patients and arrange your own follow-up where appropriate.
A team around you
One of the advantages of working in a practice of our size is the breadth of clinical support available.
Our team includes GPs alongside:
- Advanced Practitioners
- Paramedic Practitioners
- Physician Associates
- Practice Nurses and Nurse Associates
- Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
- Biomedical Scientists
- Healthcare Assistants
- Safeguarding Officers
- a substantial administrative and operational team
This allows work to be shared with the most appropriate professional rather than everything defaulting to the GP.
About us
Hereford Medical Group is one of the largest general practices in the region, caring for approximately 46,500 patients across four sites in and around Hereford.
Our main site, Station Medical Centre, is a modern purpose-built primary care centre in the heart of Hereford.
We want HMG to be somewhere GPs can build a sustainable and enjoyable career. We support professional development, portfolio interests and opportunities to become involved in wider areas of practice life according to your interests.
Interested, but want to know more first?
You do not need to decide whether HMG is right for you from an advert.
We would be very happy to arrange an informal conversation or visit, giving you the opportunity to meet us, see how the practice works and talk to members of our GP team before applying.
Applications are welcomed from GPs at different stages of their career.
Come and see whether HMG could be the right next step for you.
This role must not be advertised or represented by third parties without written authorisation.
