Job summary
We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Administrative Assistant to join our team and provide essential administrative support to our reception team and the wider practice.
This is a varied and rewarding role involving front-desk reception, telephone support, patient liaison and general administrative duties. You will be an important part of the practice team, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our busy GP practice while providing a welcoming and professional service to our patients.
The successful candidate will be a confident and approachable communicator who is able to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues. You will be well organised, able to prioritise and manage competing tasks effectively, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility is important, as you will be expected to work collaboratively across different areas of the practice and provide support to other teams when required. We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service.
This role is based across two practice sites, located approximately one mile apart.
Hours of Work
- 26.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Shift pattern includes both:
- AM shifts: 8.00am 1.15pm
- PM shifts: 1.15pm 6.30pm
- Over a two-week period, you will work 5 AM shifts and 5 PM shifts
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide professional front-desk and administrative support within the practice, assisting patients, managing appointments and enquiries, processing registrations and documentation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring confidentiality. Support both clinical and non-clinical teams to help maintain the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Job summary
This is a joint appointment between the NHS Department of Clinical Biochemistry and the University Department, the Wolfson Centre forPrevention of Stroke and Dementia. The post holder will spend the equivalent of 2.5 days per week in each department.The NHS post will be a development role in which specialist testing (mainly mass spectrometry) will be implemented for service and researchprovision. An active role in duty biochemist rota is expected.The University role will require development and analysis of research assays to support the work of the Wolfson Centre.Opportunities for further study and qualifications are available (including DPhil and/or FRCPath).
Main duties of the job
o A Registered Clinical Scientist, responsible for helping the Consultant Clinical Biochemist and Consultant Chemical Pathologists provide a comprehensive scientific and clinical service in Clinical Biochemistry to the Trust, ICB and other service users.o To undertake research and development activities in line with the needs of the NHS Clinical Biochemistry department and theWolfson CPSD unit at Oxford University.o The post holder will be expected to pursue further higher professional qualifications (FRCPath)
o The post holder will be expected to participate in the Duty Biochemist rotao Process blood samples taken for research, maintaining documents and databases. Including cataloguing frozen samples.o Perform biomarker assays and DNA extraction from blood and subsequent PCR to genotype certain risk factors. Training will be givenon any aspects of the role you may be unfamiliar with.o Participate in and contribute directly to scientific discussions.

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and making a real difference? We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and compassionate individual to join our Colorectal Specialist Nursing Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support patients throughout their colorectal cancer pathway while playing a key role in our Remote Surveillance Programme.
What you will do:
The Colorectal Specialist Nursing Team Support Worker will work as part of the ColorectalCancerCareTeam supporting registered practitioners to improve holistic care for people with cancer.
- Support the Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialists in coordinating patient care.
- Manage the Remote Surveillance pathway for patients following colorectal cancer treatment.
- Monitor surveillance investigations and ensure patients receive timely follow-up.
- Contact patients by telephone to provide information, reassurance and appointment coordination.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, GP practices and diagnostic departments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic systems.
- Support service improvement projects, audits and data collection.
- Help ensure patients receive safe, effective and person-centred care.
The Support Worker will need some prior experience working with cancer patients and excellent communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
- Support the delivery of personalised care services as part of the Personalised Care Team and Colorectal Nursing Team
- Conduct Holistic Needs Assessments to identify what matters most to patients and signpost them to appropriate information, support services and self-management resources
- Provide practical and emotional support to patients throughout their cancer pathway
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of health and wellbeing events, promoting approved cancer information and support services
- Support the Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialists by assisting with patient care coordination and administrative activities
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, primary care and community services to facilitate referrals and seamless patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure administrative processes are completed efficiently and in line with Trust policies
- Help improve the patient experience by ensuring timely access to information, support and onward services
