Job summary
High Street Surgery is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic General Practitioner to join our friendly and dedicated team. We welcome applications from both experienced GPs and newly qualified GPs seeking a supportive environment in which to develop their career. We can offer 4-8 sessions per week, with flexibility to suit the right candidate.

Our practice and team
Our practice is supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, allowing us to provide high-quality, patient-centred care while benefiting from a wide range of clinical expertise.
Our clinical team includes:
- Four GP Partners and one Salaried GP.
- Three Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
- A First Contact Physiotherapist.
- A Social Prescriber and Mental Health Practitioner.
- A Pharmacy Technician.
Our experienced nursing and healthcare team includes two Practice Nurses, an Assistant Practitioner, a Health and Wellbeing Advisor, a Healthcare Assistant and a Phlebotomist.
The wider team is supported by our dedicated Practice Management team and a highly skilled administrative team of receptionists, secretaries and prescription clerks, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
We are also proud to be a GP training practice, reflecting our commitment to education, professional development and supporting the next generation of GPs.

Job Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be a strong and supportive team player who is aligned to the vision of the partnership and the practice, yet also able to work independently and manage their own caseload of patients. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified GPs.
Below is an indication of responsibilities but there may be on occasions, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
c. Effective management of long-term conditions
d. Processing of administration in a timely manner including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.
e. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.
f. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
g. Contribute to the effective management of the organisation including administration, planning, strategy, BRPs etc.
h. Identify, implement and embed best practice through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
i. Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
j. Contribute to the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines.
Generic duties include:
a. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
b. Show leadership qualities, work collaboratively, ensure an even distribution of the organisations workload.
c. Take responsibility for continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the organisation.
d. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF.
e. Attend and contribute effectively to organisation meetings as required.
f. Represent the organisation at PCN/ICS/ICB and regional meetings.
g. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the organisation including clinical governance, training, financial management and HR.
h. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
i. Commit to self-learning and in still an ethos of continuing professional development across the organisations team.
j. Remain fully focused on the strategic aims of the organisation, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
k. Prepare and attend meetings contributing in a positive manner.
l. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies.
