Part-Time Medical Cleaner Fairhill Medical Practice

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Medical Cleaner to join our friendly team at Fairhill Medical Practice.

You will play an important role in keeping our GP surgery clean, safe and welcoming for our patients and staff, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control.

• Cleaning consultation and treatment rooms, waiting areas, staff areas and toilets

• Disinfecting surfaces and high-touch areas

• Safely handling and disposing of clinical waste

• Replenishing soap, hand sanitiser and paper products

• Following cleaning schedules and infection control procedures

• Reporting any maintenance or cleaning concerns

We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, trustworthy and takes pride in their work. Previous cleaning experience is required, with experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred.

You should be comfortable working independently, have excellent attention to detail and be committed to maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness.

Main duties of the job

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Cleaner to join our team Fairhill Medical Practice. You will play a vital role in ensuring our GP practice is kept to the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control for the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean consultation rooms, treatment areas, waiting rooms, staff areas, and toilets
• Disinfect surfaces and high-touch areas in accordance with infection prevention policies
• Handle and dispose of clinical waste safely
• Refill soap, hand sanitiser, and paper products
• Report any maintenance or cleanliness concerns to the Branch Manager
• Ensure cleaning materials are stored safely and used correctly

About You:

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting (desirable)
• Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures (training can be provided)
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Able to work independently and follow cleaning schedules
• Good communication skills and attention to detail

Fairhill Medical Practice is a busy, friendly and supportive GP practice based in Kingston upon Thames, providing care to a large and diverse local community across our three sites.

We have a welcoming multidisciplinary team including GPs, nurses, healthcare staff, pharmacists, GP assistants, receptionists, administrators and management.
