Job summary

We have a great opportunity at North Street Medical Care for someone who has at least one year experience in a GP surgery. Clinical coding knowledge is an advantage.

The position is for 18 - 22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days.

You would be part of an excellent team and be responsible for the coding of relevant information into the patients electronic healthcare records on EMIS Web clinical system, adhering to the practice coding policy. In addition, the post-holder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.

Main duties of the job

  1. Accurately read-coding data on EMIS Web into the patient record

  2. Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions

  3. Input and extract data as required to support practice reports

  4. File and store records as required

  5. Photocopy documentation as required

  6. Action all incoming faxes, emails and mail in a timely manner

  7. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records

  8. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

  9. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

  10. Carry out system searches as requested

  11. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

  12. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
