We are looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and compassionate Healthcare Assistant / GP Assistant to join our busy multi-site practice team.

The successful candidate will be approachable, professional and an excellent communicator, with a caring and patient-focused approach. Good organisation and time management are essential, along with the ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.

The role will support GPs, Practice Nurses and the wider clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care. It combines HCA clinical duties with GP Assistant responsibilities, providing both clinical and administrative support. Training will be provided where required, with all duties undertaken within the individual's training and competence.

The Group includes a main site and branch practices, and the successful candidate must be willing to work across all sites as required.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday over 5 days, including a minimum of one late evening per week until 8.00pm. The working pattern will be agreed according to service requirements.

Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave and other service requirements.

Main duties of the job

To support GPs, Practice Nurses and the wider clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care, working within their training, competence and scope of practice.

• Undertake phlebotomy and blood pressure measurement (mandatory), alongside routine observations including pulse, temperature, height, weight and BMI.
• Carry out ECGs, urinalysis, new patient checks, basic dressings and other clinical tasks where trained.
• Administer vaccinations, including flu, where appropriately trained.
• Prepare patients, clinical rooms and equipment for consultations and procedures.
• Support GPs during clinics, including patient preparation, observations, chaperoning, documentation, referrals and investigations where appropriately trained.
• Assist clinicians with minor procedures and support the smooth running of GP clinics.
• Provide additional support for in-house minor surgery and carpal tunnel clinics, including preparing rooms, equipment and patients, assisting the clinician during procedures and supporting post-procedure care.
• Maintain clinical rooms, equipment and stock, following infection prevention and control procedures.
• Record accurate clinical information and escalate concerns or abnormal findings appropriately.
• Promote health and wellbeing and provide patients with appropriate information within own competence.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity and safeguarding at all times.
• Work flexibly across the Group's practice sites and contribute positively to the wider multidisciplinary team.
