Job summary

We are seeking a friendly, team player to join our Dispensary team, working in a Dispensary Assistant role. This role is the first point of contact for our Dispensary department. Good customer service skills are essential. This role is very busy and involves lifting and carrying larger items.

This role is 20 hours per week with fixed hours plus participation in a Saturday morning rota (approximately 1 in 6). You will be expected to pick up additional hours to cover your job share partner during periods of annual leave and sickness absences.

Fixed hours are: Tuesdays 1pm - 6.30pm, Thursdays 1.30pm - 6.30pm & Fridays 8.30am - 6.30pm.

Main duties of the job

This role involves the below:

Meet and greet patients in a warm, welcoming manner (front of house in dispensary)

Handling of prepared prescriptions to patients

Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements

Unpack and store pharmaceutical deliveries

Working with the dispensers in assisting with stock control

Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers instructions

Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature once received

Signing off invoices and forwarding for payment to the appropriate staff member

Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post

Ramsbury & Wanborough Surgery is a rural, dispensing GP Surgery based on the Wiltshire/Berkshire border. We are a training practice with an excellent reputation, providing all aspects of primary care to just over 10,000 patients, with an Outstanding CQC rating. The practice uses SystmOne clinical system. We are a friendly team which includes ANPs, Nurses, HCAs, Clinical Pharmacist and a Health & Wellbeing team.
