Medical Rotational Programme - AMU, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Respiratory, Care of the Elderly, Cardiology and Gastroenterology
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will work within the Emergency Division, collaborating closely with emergency medicine, acute medicine, same day emergency care, and the specialty and general medical wards.
- The post holder will work as part of the senior medical team, providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to resident doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team, under the direction of the appropriate Consultant.
- George Eliot Hospital is affiliated with the University of Warwick Medical School. In addition, on the main hospital site there is also a first class modern education and conference facility in the George Eliot Training and Education Centre (GETEC), housing an excellent library and state of the art learning support facilities.

- Broad clinical experience in General Internal Medicine
- Experience of managing a broad range of acute medical presentations, including patients with complex comorbidities and clinical deterioration
- Experience of prioritising and managing competing clinical demands within a busy acute care environment, with an understanding of appropriate escalation to senior clinicians and specialist services
- Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including supporting, supervising and providing clinical advice to junior members of the clinical team
- Good understanding of the NHS and the professional responsibilities of a senior clinician, including clinical governance, patient safety, incident reporting and risk management.
- Understanding of the principles of safe discharge, admission avoidance, and effective patient flow
Desirable
- Experience of clinical leadership within an acute care environment

- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Evidence of completion of Core medical training or equivalent
- Current Advance Life Support (ALS) certification or equivalent

- MRCP Part 1 or equivalent evidence of postgraduate medical knowledge

- MRCP Part 2 and/or PACES
