Job summary
Birches Head Medical Centre / Hulton House Surgery are seeking a
Fully Qualified Health Care Assistant to help expand our friendly team
Experience in General Practice is desirable but not essential.
A new vacancy for a Health Care Assistant has arisen to join our practice due to our HCA completing the Nurse Associate Course.
We are excited to offer this position within our Surgery to join our team.
We pride ourselves in enabling our staff to progress and upskill.
We are a friendly team with approximately 10,500 patients and 2 Surgeries
We are looking for an individual with
- Excellent all round communication skills
- Knowledge of the workings of General Practice (desirable)
- Knowledge of EMIS WEB computer system (desirable)
- Flexibility to cover sickness and holidays over both surgeries
Main duties of the job
General Health Care Duties including Phlebotomy, ECGs, injections including B12s, Shingles, Pneumonia and Flu.
To undertake annual reviews and blood pressure checks as required including Hypertension and Learning Disability.
Assisting with clinics such as baby clinics, minor surgery and contraceptive implants.
Checking and ordering stock, stock taking such as emergency drugs, checking fridge temperatures.
Getting waste ready for collection.

We are a growing team, and a new vacancy has come available due the upskilling of our HCA to a Nursing Associate.
